PG Open and NZ Champs Prize giving dinner
The last day of the PG Open in Rotorua on Saturday has been cancelled due to forecast very bad weather. Unlke other uncertain forecasts this one leaves no room for a possible task. The organisers and pilots have decided to close the competition early and hold the prize giving and dinner on Friday night. The function will be held at the Rotorua Citizens Club cnr Arawa St and Rangiuru St at 6pm.
2 Tasks declared invalid for National Championships and ladder
A mistake by the organiser has been pointed out by the other members of the competition committee. Task validity is based on a minimum number of pilots reaching a 5km min distance. This was not achieved in tasks 2 and 3 so these tasks have been declared invalid. My apologies for this. The results have been amended.
The tasks still stand for the PGOpen.
Day two at Hickies Bluff
nick snake launch
Nick tries the cobra launch in a slightly unorthodox way.
Day one.
Flying has been cancelled today due to excessive wind and insufficient thermals. Tomorrow is looking good with iight NW.
The best thermal today was in the campground with 20 pilots circling a clump of grass. All part of the new comp pilot seminar.
