New Zealand Paragliding Nationals Championships 2014
Round One

Location: Nelson
Dates: Workshops Day:  Friday 24 January.
Friday 24 January Mandatory Safety Meeting at 19:30 (7.30pm).
Saturday 25 January to Saturday 1 February 2014.
Prize Giving Dinner:  Saturday 1 February.
Entry Forms: On line through PG Open website. 
Meeting Venues: Friday Night Briefing and BBQ:
Jaycee Room at Founders Heritage Park (http://www.founderspark.co.nz/);
At 7.30pm, Doors open at 4.00pm.
Comp HQ:
Sprig and Fern,
30 Beach Road Tahunanui
Morning Briefing 8.00am every morning.
Sites: Inwoods, Blowhard, Takaka, Mt Murchison, Barnicoat, Havelock, (Sherry River if available).
Cost: $165.
With early bird incentive up to 1 December: $148.50
No further registrations after 19:00 Friday 24 January 2014.

Prizes: Depends on sponsors and funds but will not be insubstantial.
Transport: BYO.
Retrieve option is available if demand is indicated,
Cost for the 10 days (bookended days for transfers) of the comp: $280
The costings are difficult to predict as factors for number of vans, drivers, mileage and petrol will vary.
Rebates are likely if these variable costs less than budgeted.
The van (or vans) will be on hire and are available for other activities if required.
Scoring: Geoff Wong’s “Highcloud” as previously used and proved.
Pilot Numbers: Max 100
Organisers will endeavour to encourage high participation especially of lower airtime pilots. Hope to build on recent successful State of Origin comp.

Other Matters: There is time available to run a Fun Comp event to encourage lower airtime pilots during week prior.
Possibility to tie into local Summer Festival activities with a Coupe Icare type day at Barnicoat either before, during comp or after comp.
Accommodation:The Tahunanui area is a high choice visitor region when it come to places to stay and eat.
