No open class gliders in NZ PG competitions

The NZ paragliding competition committee are finalising a rule change that will prevent the use of open class ( or uncertified)  gliders in NZ pg competitions. This is consistent with decisions made by the FAI, CIVL and PWCA and with the aims and objectives of the NZ PCC to foster safety and participation in paragliding competitions.

20 December - (Fun) Regional Comp Details

It's about time i put pen to paper and let everyone know the plan.

So - the Regional Comp, planned for the 27th to 30th December is in place of the fun comp we used to hold. As a consequence... i'm going to make if fun!

The scoring will be done normally for all the serious people (not very many really), but as far as the real competition goes (i.e. the prizes) it will be handicapped. The 'normal' scores will count as RC scores for the ladder. The handicapping will be based on the following mutliplication factors:

Male x1.0, Female x 1.2

19 December - Comp Getting Close

Hi Everyone... just though i'd let you know that most things have now fallen into place.

Over the next few days i'll be uploading the waypoint file for you all to download and I'll add details of the regional competition from the 27-30th.

Now is the time to check you all (or at least those of you residing in NZ) have current membership and WOF's. For visiting pilots, i will be in Wanaka from the 26th and will be able to arrange visitor membership of the NZHGPA from that point forward.

See you all soon.

Mark.

13 November - Regional Comp Dates Confirmed

Good news, the RC/leage event is confirmed. 27th-30th December. The idea is that it will be scored using the Airscore system (the same system which will be used in the Open). This will enable everyone to familiarise themselves with the system and their equipment. To keep things entertaining, the 'real' results will be based on a handicapped scoring system to act as encouragement for the pilots on lower performance gliders and with less experience. More details to follow soon...
